In 2000, Wendy played the role of Jane Avril in the musical comedy Lautrec (West End, London). The original songs for the show were written by Charles Aznavour, but they’d been translated into English for the musical. At the cast party at the end of the season, she was chatting with Monsieur Aznavour about his original French lyrics, telling him how much she would like to hear them. He was not only kind enough to have his publishing company send her a copy of his lyrics, he also gave her permission to include the original French version of the song “Est-ce l’amour” on her first album “Let’s do it”. The arrangement was written by Australian pianist and composer Chris Cody.
