Jazz singer and tap dancer Wendy Lee Taylor will present her new album, “Remembering Fred Astaire” which, as the title indicates, is consecrated to the marvellous performer who continues to inspire so many artists…
Accompanied by Philippe Petit (piano), Pierre Maingourd (double bass) and Eric Dervieu (drums), Wendy Lee Taylor tributes the artist who inaugurated so many of the titles of illustrious composers such as George & Ira Gershwin, Irving Berlin and Cole Porter.
In our collective memory, Fred Astaire holds a special place in our hearts: he is the quintessential charming hero of so many timeless musicals and his gravity defying grace, rhythm and creativity characterise all his performances, whether it be acting, singing or dancing.
It therefore seems an obvious choice to celebrate the release of this album at the Caveau de la Huchette, temple of swing dance and jazz since 1946!
